The Pan-Africa Consortium on Pharmaceutical Product Development Training (PACoPPDeT) is a Pan-African training consortium co-funded by the European Union through the Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking. This website is operated on behalf of the consortium partners for the purpose of communicating about the programme and its training activities.

For data protection purposes the consortium acts as joint controllers for personal data submitted through this website. The coordinating institution handles day-to-day data protection enquiries. Where a consortium partner processes your data for its own admissions, employment or research purposes, that institution's own privacy notice will also apply.

We deliberately keep data collection to a minimum. We only collect what we need in order to respond to you and to run the programme.

We do not ask for special category data (such as health, ethnicity or religious belief) through this website, and we ask that you do not include such information in free-text messages.

Under Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we rely on the following lawful bases:

• Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — to reply to enquiries you send us and to keep this website secure and functioning.
• Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — where you opt in to receive programme updates or where non-essential cookies are used. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Public interest and research (Article 6(1)(e)) — for reporting on the delivery of publicly funded capacity strengthening activities, always using aggregated or anonymised figures.
• Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) — where our funders or national law require us to retain records relating to the grant.

Enquiry correspondence is retained for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless it forms part of an application or grant record that must be kept for audit purposes. Records relating to the funded programme are retained in line with the retention requirements of the Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking, after which they are securely deleted or fully anonymised.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Your data may be shared with:

• Consortium partner institutions, where your enquiry concerns their courses, facilities or research and needs to be answered by them.
• Service providers who host this website and deliver our email, acting only on our instructions under a written data processing agreement.
• Our funders and auditors, where they require reporting or assurance information — normally in aggregated form.
• Public authorities, where disclosure is required by law.

The consortium spans institutions in Africa and Europe, so your data may be transferred outside the country in which you are based. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area we rely on an adequacy decision or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards.

This website is served over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to consortium staff who need it in order to respond. Our providers are required to maintain appropriate security measures, and we review our arrangements periodically.

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR and applicable national law, you have the right to:

• Be informed about how your personal data is used — the purpose of this policy.
• Request access to a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Ask us to erase your data where we no longer need it.
• Ask us to restrict processing, or object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing.
• Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
